DOMBIVL :- The Rotary Club of Dombivli Winners successfully organised a Thalassemia Awareness session on 22nd September 2026, attended by Rotarians, their families, and friends.
Keynote speaker Dr. Madhav Baitule, District Chairman of the ‘End Thal Now’ initiative, addressed the gathering on the severity of the condition and elaborated on key preventive measures. He highlighted that Thalassemia is a serious inherited blood disorder requiring regular, lifelong blood transfusions to survive, yet it is easily preventable through timely blood testing, making early screening and community awareness essential.
Upholding its commitment to social welfare, the club made a significant donation to the Rotary Ashray ETN Day Care Center to support life-saving blood transfusions and medical care for thalassemic children. The session concluded on a high note with an overwhelmingly positive response from all attendees.
Ujwal Thombre (President), Shailesh Gor (Secretary), and the members of the Rotary Club of Dombivli Winners worked hard to ensure the success of the event.
